If I hook up to a 20lb tank do I need a regulator? And do you leave the little tanks in too? I have a filter.

Go to Princess auto or the like and they have a hose that has the connector, regulator and quick connect that goes right into the heater. You can also run it right off the tank without one if you have the hose end like the ones on the ends of the small bottles and screw it in where the bottles go in. I used to do it that way but like the quick connect idea better for on and off. Both will work fine it is what you prefer or maybe what you have sitting around you can use. We have our tank mounted to the front of the shack the run the hose through the wall and have the heater sitting between us inside. Works great in any temperature.
