That sleeping tent looks pretty slick. Do you have any pictures from the inside at all? Looks like a stove pipe sticking out the top?

It is a nylon tent.(Cabelas calls it their XTC fabric - extreme tent cloth) The tent comes with zip out hole in the floor and a lined stove pipe hole. They rate it at medium to extreme weather conditions. It looks and feels tough. I'll have lots of pics in the upcoming weeks. You can look at the inside on their web site though.

When I set it up in the back yard last year I had some issues with sparks coming down on the tent and melting through the fabric. Since then I added another length of pipe and a Cabelas inline "stack robber"(spark arrester). It now has two spark arresters and that extra length of pipe., hopefully that fixes it.

I know what you mean about sparks coming down. I had a spark come down, melt through the plastic fly, settle on the canvas and burn hole about 1 foot square. Must do something about that next year. I don't know why you are in 332 as there are no elk in there, right? (wink, wink). BEL

Sounds like a nice set up roe.. Just a note on the spark arresters. You may or may not know but they can be a real pain sometimes.. I personally have never had any luck with them they always seem to get plugged off very fast and as such you loose all draft and you end up with a very smokey tent usually in the middle of the night.. I have tried many different kinds over the years and we have found in the long run to run with out.. But that would not be advisable with a nylon tent.. You may find you're going to be pulling it off and having to clean it out often.. It does help to burn poplar it is a much cleaner burning wood I would really try and stay away from pine or spruce they will plug up you're screen in no time... Again you probably know all this but just in case this may save you a lot of grief...

And again good luck...

Walleyes - This is going to be the "Big Test" for this Cabelas Tent. I've had it for two years and was scared to try it last year. If it's no good for cold weather camping I'll take it the 1/2 hr drive home and bring out another canvas one. I'm really hoping I can use it for (warm to moderately cool) November camping. It is very easy to set up and has lots of room. That is good advice about the poplar wood.

Roger - we moved to the south of the hwy this year. Close to where I met you and your Misses last year.

I normally hunt some in 332. But this year I will probably not set up a hunt camp. I have an antlerless elk draw in 330 and mule deer buck and doe tags for 324. White-tails I will chase in all three zones. Good luck with your hunt and hope you have a great camp. If you are taking "kids" out with you I'm sure you will have fun and will be bringing the next generation of hunters along.
