Big Lake By St albert?

I just moved to St. Albert and was wondering if theirs any good fishing around in it?? Or dose it winterkill from being shallow and swampy

I tried fishing there in the summer time and I spent the whole time trying to get unstuck in my boat that I never had time to actually fish. It is an extremely shallow lake with nothing but weeds. In the spring time you can catch hundreds of little hammer handle pike in the Sturgeon river before it gets choked out by weeds. I would say it is not worth your time, but I have not actually ever ice fished there.
