Has anyone fished Cheecham lake near Fort McMurray, off of highway 881?

If you mean George's lake then yes I have, but not this year... yet.

george's lake is cheecham lake and i know alot of guys that have had success there last year, i'm going to be checking it out in the next few weeks..

I belive so, I fished it with the guy that lives by the tracks last spring, as well as this past fall. More fun than anything, nothing of size

i met this guy as well did he tell ya about how is tracker got stuck in there lol was in there this fall tracker still there. and he was so close to the lake too. long walk out

He had lots of storys haha, but probably the best smoked deer meat i have ever had, i make sure to stop by everytime i head down the road, i didn't know that was his tracker.. funny how its just sitting there

Is there only perch and pike in that lake? And how far off the gravel road is the lake? thanks in andvance.

I believe that there is only pike and perch, it is about 400-500m from the road as the crow flies but i think the trail is longer as it switch backs a couple times.

hit it today got a bunch of pike and 1 perch. pretty easy to get on.

Thanks for the report! Have you ever heard of decent sized perch come out of that lake before? or just pike?

I haven't heard of any big perch coming out of there, all the guys i know or met on the lake last weekend just go for pike and there is alot there. My biggest was about 4lbs on the weekend.
