Just made a rotating support handle for my auger. Will give some place to hold so auger will not go down the hole. And makes it easier to start hole

i recently bought the conversion by ice master and i put the kitt on my 18v cordless and used it a few days ago and i found the first few inches was fine even though it had a hard time starting the hole. then after a few inches it really struggled to cut and i ended up finishing the rest of the holes by hand. even with the highest torqe settings it would spin and cut only a inch or so at a time and not like the videos i saw on youtube. i was disapointed. have you used yours yet? whats your though?

I cut the handle off of my six inch auger and welded an allen wrench on for my cordless drill to hold on. My drill is a Dewalt 18 V XRP with 1/2 inch keyless chuck. I can drill at a rate of one inch of ice per second easily , faster if I push it. The downfall will be the depth I can drill so I'll have to make an extension before long. On my first outing I drilled 22 holes with the ice thickness between 6 and 4 inches before my battery got tired. http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/images/smilies/sHa_shakeshout.gif
Here is a link, let me know if it doesn't work.

Went out late today went to pigeon drilled 5 holes 12" of ice near shore down to
8" about 500 m out lots of sled tracks near shore couple quads out father. Then stopped a wizzard drilled 4 holes there 50' from boat launch 10" about 200' out 8-9 " was dark didn't go any more. Auger worked great used deWalt 18 V had no problem handle made holding auger in place a lot easier
