I was out on the ice right at dawn and drilled some holes. The bite was awesome all the way up until about noon then stopped dead. At some points both of my rods had fish on. I decided to keep one lake trout so I took a picture of it. A giant raven tried to steal it so to keep it away I kept throwing smelts at it so he ate them instead. I really want to go out again tomorrow if anybody is up for it. Message me tonight before it is too late.

After I left Spray I went to PCR to try for my first burbot.

After I became an icecube when you and I were out I bought new boots and pants. I just need some warm socks now.

Decent looking Laker! How deep are you finding them & are they hugging bottom or suspending?

THey are very deep. I almost ran out of line on my smaller rod. I find they are hugging bottom. Only one was suspending and I only know because I was reeling in to check bait and it bit.

Cool. Did you get on at the boat launch or farther down the lake?

So strange, was there today too. Spent all morning, mabe one bite (first time ever that slow). Even the two guys I talked to on my way out had nothing. Was out by the boat launch. Switched to whites and must of had almost 10 in the first 1 1/2 hour. Neat to watch the schools of 5-10 swarming the hook.

Did you fish for the lakers in the same spot as the whites? If that's the case you were way too shallow. If you can see down then you're not deep enough, try to get into 60-100 feet of water for the lakers.

I know where the lakers are, I was in 8-15 FOW for the whites. Though I have caught lakers while fishing for whites at spray....

Hey Fellas, great to see that spray is iced over. Im the guy who caught that 15 pounder last march out of spray, and cant wait to hit it for the first time this year. How much ice is there? is it clearly safe in and around shore? and how about the far end where the river flows in, any idea if it would be frozen all the way down to the other end near the Mt shark parking lot?? I appreciate any responses, as im trying to put a plan together, so thanks alot! cheers,

That's what I heard, but was never able to find any :( .

Guess I'll need to go there this weekend and break the jinx.
