Sturgeon Lake

I am going to Sturgeon Lake around New Years, and I was going to try for the first time to catch a whitefish. Does anyone have any tips on where on the lake to catch them and with what type of hooks do they like. Thanks for any help.

Later in the season we used to fish them at the east end by the spillway. You have to drive through the reserve and then there is a road to the lake. Its been years so I can't remember more than that. Try wireworms. it seems like the thing for whites.
