Hey guys,
There isnt anything on here for south eastern alberta lakes so far this season.
Grassy, Newell, Rattlesnake, Chin, 40 Mile.
whats the scoop? Has anyone been out yet? I've been to 40 mile once so far, fishing was decent, clear water.

How thick is the ice?
I'll be going Tuesday with some old timers and they don't like walking!

last year seemed to be like that. The first week or two was really good, and then it dropped off of the map. I am guessing that because all of the lakes are back to what they should be and the amount of insects, they just aren't feeding like they used to and are harder to locate?

Rattlesnake was awsome today. 9:00 to 4:00. 4 pike (2 keepers) and well over 50 perch and at least 15 were 10 + inches. Fished the narrows in about 18 feet of water. Little over 12 inches of ice there as well.

Perch in the narrows?
I've tried more than a few times there in the deep channel for em and can never seem to get em!
It's my fave early season spot on the Snake tho....for pike
Friend was out last week in a different location and the perch were going too so maybe it's time, too bad I'm either working or out of town for the 2weeks:(
