Gull lake!

The first video was sort of like Gull lake last year for me. I saw at least 30-40 in a day but many would just swim by uninterested. It's amazing how they just turn the feeding switch off during spawning.

Actually Whitefish are like salmon and trout they spawn in the fall!!!
Burbot are the first "spring spawners" usually through March.

Just to clear things up....

Lake Whitefish are spring spawners.

Rocky Mountain Whitefish spawn in the fall.

Trout (Rainbows, Cutts) spawn in the spring.

Chars (Lakers, Bulls, Brookies) spawn in the fall as do Brown Trout.

Lings (Burbot) spawn under the ice in February/March

Pike, Perch and Walleye spawn in the spring
