I'm heading there Monday just wondering if the fishing is any good right now. It has been a couple years since the last time I was there. Any info would be nice.
Thanks.

That lake is mentioned several times a year but no pics or good reports.....either it's really kick***** and nobody wants to share the news or it sucks....

Fishing is hit and miss.

Sometimes the bite is on big time but often, you won’t get anything no matter what you try. I have had good success this summer/fall, but have yet to get out on the ice there this year.

Bigger ones I catch are in the 20ish inch range, but I throw back plenty of small ones in between catching those.

Beautiful lake, and decent fishing, but it gets pricey to fish with the added licence costs (Need a Blackfeet Tribe licence) and the drive, so to many it's not worth it. (Plus the added hassle of a sometimes slow border crossing.)

I like it there though!

I have pics of the lake and some fish, but can’t figure how to post pics on this forum anymore.....

One of my all time favorites is Duck Mtn Prov. Park east of Kamsack Sask. Three lakes. Loaded with pike and walleye at Madge, perch at Little Jackfish plus walleye action at Batke. Probably a bit far from Calgary with the 12 hr. drive, plus the lodge is a bit spendy at 159.00. Stay in town.

Got back from fishing Duck lake. Had a great day besides the white out snow conditions and 40km winds.
Fish were as expected, steady.
That lake is the windiest lake I have ever fished. If you don't have a sturdy strong ice hut I would't wast my time.
Not many people on the lake, prob cause of the wind.
I got my limit and will feast tomorrow on fresh fish.
My biggest was 19".

Nice. That is a good size. What was the average size and how many bites and landed trout did you luck into?

Out of curiousity...how many others did you see ice fishing? I always figured it would be a popular place to go...but not camping...it can be costly to stay at the lodge. 40 K winds would also be a drag. Are there huts left on the ice all year?

Have you ever tasted a sweeter nicer tasting rainbow? Yum.

No.

LOL...now that I think about it. Probably a silly question knowing the wind down there. A better question is there any hut kindling down on the rocks in the East end. :sign0068:

LOL.

As far as I can remember, any shelter must be removed by Sunset. Fishing there is from Sunrise to Sunset.
