I dont know much about the brazeau canal. only been there once in may 2008. I was just wondering how the canal works. the start of the canal where the pumphouse is, is there current there, is there open water year round right at the pumphouse? When i was there it was not turned on so i went to the powerhouse where they dump into the n/s river and that was running. Is ice fishing the main lake (canal part) for pike good most anywhere. I know this is very vaugue, but its a long drive and I dont see much for brazeau ice fishing on the forum. I heard the pike get pretty big there? Any knowledge would help, I plan on making a pike trip this winter.
Thanks.

was there last year, the canal doesnt freeze and neither does a lot of the south side. before last year i hadnt been there for about 15 years but back then my old man got an absolute monster there. hard to tell how big it was looking at the pictures of when i was about 10 years old, but it was taller than me.

By the way is that a trout in your profile picture?
