Best Perch Fishing Bait?

Hey guys heading out to Long Island lake next week. I have ice fished for Walleye a little bit but never perch. What is the best lures to use and what types of bait should I bring?
I've heard of all sort of wacky **** that guys use.
Lots of kids going so I would like to get some action for them.

Tiny five o diamonds with red diamonds, tipped off with 3-6 maggots, or break a meal worm in half and use that. If that doesn't work try a green grub with either maggots or meal worms.

Perch eyes if you got them, maggots to prime the pump :)

Various jigs, jigging spoons etc.

peices of frozen shrimp from shrimp rings, Maggots, minnow heads, Perch eyes, Squid tenticles from China town. Those are just a few of my favs

Go to The Fishin Hole and get yourself a bunch of 1/64oz jig heads. They have them in packages not in bulk that small and get some 1" jig tails as well. Theirs about 6 colours and 10 in a pack. If those aren't working then either tip it with the baits mentioned above or remove the tail and put only the bait on the jig head

Smallest single jig u can find 1/64, 1/32 works too. 1/8th of a worm for bait. Often chances are u will have fish on b4 she sinks if ur in the right location. One worm should equal 10 perch or so, n always seem to get ur bait back. Don't set ur hook hard, cuz chances are ur gonna release the small ones, no sense in ripping their lip out imo.
