View Full Version : Good lakes close to St Paul for ice fishin?

Going up there in january and would like get out fishin somewhere. Pike,walleye or perch would be good. Anything close by thats decent?

There are so many there, now to choose. I would go to chicken hill first, then try vincent and maybe moose or kahewan. all a little north of St.Paul.

I was at chickenhill not long ago. There was maybe 2 feet of visibility in 16 feet of water. Didn't see anything on the camera or sonar. I donno if that's normal but we left early. Id avoid that lake.

Don't think thats the norm for it. Used to be clear at 8 ft and lots of perch. May have turned over when you went. May have changed some in the past couple of years. There are so many lakes in that area to choose from. Check a good map and compare to the fishing regs as to what is has in them and choose.
