Hi, someone had asked me to post some pics of the tip-downs I had made in the past. So here are some pics I found.
Basically I think the easiest way to make them is to use 2 inch black pvc pipe. Using a spade bit drill a small hole through the pipe about 1 to 1.5 inches down. Then turn the pipe 90 degrees and using a larger spade bit drill through the pipe. Then cut down with hack saw or something else to the drill holes. The large notch will be where your 1/2 inch dowel will rest. Place a three inch screw half way thru the middle off the dowel so it can sit in the notches cut for the screw and the dowel can freely pivet when a fish bites. The key is the leave a bit of a notch where the screws sit so the dowel doesn't fly out of the holder when you get a good bite.
