Im planning a fishing trip for the up coming open water season. I'd like to catch a lake trout and ideas of the easiest place to do so (or large rainbows)within 8h of Red Deer? Thanks

My little brother knows Lake Minniwanka like the back of his hand. He is one of the top guides on that lake. He puts people on fish usually. He is getting a new boat and starting on his own this year. It is a tough lake to fish if you dont know what you are doing and not dialed in.

If you have a boat and downriggers, Cold Lake is the place to go in Alberta! Great fishing all summer long and chance at to catch very big fish!
