View Full Version : How far does the river flowing into Ghost freeze?

The bow river that flows into Ghost Reservoir can have quite a bit of flow. how far into the mouth of the river do you think one can walk by this time of year? i would think quite a ways until it thins out. it has been pretty cold.

from first dam below Hwy 1X downstream to Ghost Reservoir (not
including the reservoir), & tributaries except Ghost River
 Apr. 1 to June 15 – Trout limit 0; Mountain Whitefish limit 5 over
30 cm; Bait Ban
 June 16 to Oct. 31 – Trout limit 1 under 35 cm; Mountain
Whitefish limit 5 over 30 cm; Maggots are the only bait allowed and
only in the river from Aug. 16 to Oct. 31.
 Nov. 1 to Mar. 31 – CLOSED

ya i think you are right, thanks. i would use it to travel in the direction of the main lake, so still would like to know if it would freeze right to the church?

Well I've fished at the church in winter before on the cliff side just east in 20 FOW and 24" of ice....so ya it's frozen that far up. Even I think to morley it's usually pretty frozen. But be careful.

I have ice-fished it in winter, and can tell you it definitely freezes solid up by the church.
