So many people knock themselves out deciding which jig or lure or color to use when i've found just a plain hook with 2 or three maggots or bait of your choice is as good or better than anything.

I prefer a Forge Minnow green in color with a meal worm, non stop action

Use whatever you want but if you run out of bait then a perch eyeball on a teardrop will keep you in action.:)

Definitely NOT illegal. Page 21 of regs.

Fishing with Bait
Bait – the definition of bait (see page 15) includes, but is not restricted to:
corn, cheese, marshmallows, meat, maggots, meal worms, earthworms,
wax worms, gammarus shrimp, leeches, terrestrial insects, the larvae,
pupae or adults of aquatic insects (e.g., stonefly, mayfly, caddis fly), bait
fish, parts of fish, fish eggs, scented baits, power baits and all additives
that scent or flavour artificial baits and lures.

But that doesn't apply to game fish. So lets say cutting perch in half and using it on your jig is illegal. Only eyes, skin, eggs and fins of the game fish are ok to use.

i find it all depends on the lake... some lakes little white jigs work best... some lakes wire worms work best... some lakes a plain hook... i dont think u could ever say what is the best hook... every lake is different and the time of year also comes into play... but all stated above are def what works for perch...

Copper Kastmaster or a tiny 5 O'D!!

Until the perch in Pigeon collapsed, Kastmaster was the killer, didn't matter what colour. Swedish Pimples were deadly there too.
I find that either a Mitzy-Ditzy or a Marmooska work best for me, green, always with maggots.

Perch and Eyes keep my family in fish through the winter. Maggots are the only thing that seem to work for me. Doesnt matter how you dress em' up.
