Leaving a ice shack on a lake

Hi I was just wondering what the rules or laws about leaving a ice fishing shack on the lake for the winter. Can anyone leave a shack on any lake?

A couple things for advise. Put your name and phone on it. If you choose to lock it, I would take most of your expensive gear because breakins happen all the time. Vandalism sometimes happens as well. If you leave it unlocked with a nice note in it that says "Use my shack but respect the shack" or something, that works out good too.
