I was there on Wednesday, and there was about 8" of snow and then you break through the hard stuff into 6" of slush/floor ice but a solid 18"-22" of good hard ice.The fishing was good though landed 8 nice Bulls.

Ice was 14in thick of good ice, 4 or 5 in of floodwater that froze, and picts I have but too large to post them...We were using just a white tube jig, you just have to really watch your line as it seemed the were hitting on the downfall, extremely light bite.....

Heading out tomorrow. Also curious as to what FOW most people are in. I try and stay around 70ft deep, as close to the open water as is safe.

Anyone else?

you got it man, thats where i go as well.. Weird tho, i keep hearing all these people say they are in 70 FOW close to the open water, but ive bin out over a dozen times there and seen no holes or tracks that go very far into the lake. Everyone seems to set up about a 2 minute walk from the road. I go further and fish those holes on the way back which are in about 30-50 feet. My best luck has been as far out from shore as possible, close to the open water, and in over 70 feet. The more flow the better.

i fished within 20 feet of the open water, on about 3 inches. I knew it was safe, but dont take my word for it. I had just as good of fishing 50 feet from the open water where there was 5 or 6 inches. The best walking is pretty c,lose to the water, as there is no snow on the ice. It is safe.

Hey critter was that you fishing last Saturday directly out from the dam, you walked past two guys out fishing in that 70' of water. If so I was wondering how the ice was there as the last time I was out that was open water
