With all the flood water its time to break down and buy some rubbers.

What kind of boots do you wear?
Where did you get them?
How much were they.

I want to go get a pair before the weekend and want a review from fellow AO members. I'm not sure what the best ones out there are and want to get a good pair the first time.

I bought a pair of Dunlop boots, all rubber. Does not have the fabric type insulation. But they keep me warm and dry on the lake. They are a steeltoe though, I use them for work every now and again. They are fairly expensive at $200. A buddy of mine went to Walmart and got a pair of insulated rubber boots for around $40, he had no complaints about them at all. I am sure someone else will chime in soon enough though.

I got a pair of Baffins at Mark's Work Warehouse a few years ago. I think they were $50 at the time and are still going strong though not used much.

On the topic of boots. For snow, the big Dakota CSA workboots that I got for work are still the best icefishing boots I have ever owned. My feet are never cold in them and they are mostly waterproof. I would buy another pair.

dunlop purofort thermo---good to minus forty . i wear them at work all winter , feet stay dry and warm . they last a few years so for recreational use they would last you for years . well worth the money. when ice fishing , i dont worry about getting splashed while drillng holes or overflow .

I wear baffin ice bear boots. They are at marks work warehouse. They are similar to the dunlop ones but these are rated to -50 and I think they fit better. they are $200 or so

Imo the dunlop boots(Marks Work Warehouse)are the best boots ever made.Thats the only boot I wear no matter -30 or +20.Also get apair of Bama's,they wick the moisture from your feet keeping your socks and feet dry.The best footwear combo I have ever used.

i have been rockin the wally world felt lined el cheapos; they work great. on really cold days i'll throw some toe warmers in them (always have some - rarely need them)

the ticket is alpaca socks; put your granpa's woollys to shame; i spent more on the socks than i spent on the boots.
cheers

Love my Muck, Arctic Sport, neoprene boots. Buy then a size larger and wear a set of Bamma socks and your feet will never be cold no matter the temp. Rated to minus 40 without the Bamma socks. http://www.muckboots4sale.com/

At Peavey mart, you can get a set of -72 or -100 boots for around $80. Best bang for the buck if you have a peavey mart close by.

Agreed. That's why the Bamma socks are important they wick moisture away from your feet. I'm going to get an extra set so I can switch them if necessary but it isn't usually. Great boots though.

Have you tried the Baffin ice claws . Way more comfortable than the Dunlop . All boots fit people different. But if anyone wants a pair of lightly used dunlop size 13 80 bucks .. O did I just hijack the thread
