With my new lighter gun being built as we speak I was curious on what weights of guns guys are packing. Doesnt have to be light weights, lets see all your weights for your rifles, scoped. And maybe mention what type of rifle and scope.

X2, I would for sure get rid of that scope, it's a toad in the weight department, and while I was at it, i'd have a real close look at the rings as well!:sHa_sarcasticlol:

Weighed as of 30 seconds ago.

8 lb 2.5 oz

Sako A7 Stainless .270 WSM
Talley 30mm lightweight 1 piece rings/bases
Leupold mk4 4.5-14x40 with butler creek flips and windage knob replaced to low profile
Safari sling (2.5 oz)
9 cartridge shell holder on butt stock
9 rounds federal premium 140 Accubonds (1 oz each)
Muzzle brake (i think this is around 2.5 oz from memory)

So about ready to go up the mountain, i may take additional two to three rounds so add an ounce a piece and that would be as honest as it gets. :)

Just got first rounds on paper with new Tikka Varmint Stainless in .204 ruger, weighed 8 lb 4 oz naked. With eagle stock pack, butlercreek sling, longest swivel harris bipod, talley 30mm rings again and leupy vxIII 6.5-20x40 LR with target elevation knob installed (scope with flips/knob is 17.5 oz)...ready to hunt with zero ammo was 11 lb 8.5 oz.

Just two i weighed recently.

All of 'em are a minimum of 11 pounds, in a wide range of calibers. Heaviest with scope is approx. 15 pounds. All have to serve double duty of target range and hunting use.

My Cooper Jackson hunter is 7.75 pounds and wears a leupold 4.5 x14. With rings, bases I'd guess it's a tad over 9 pounds. I find it heavy. My next rifle will be a lightweight rig on a rem 700 action.

For sure, and fluting the barrel would shave off yet more precious ounces. :bad_boys_20:

CZ527 204 with bipod and back mono is 9lb 5oz. Building loads for a friends Kimber Montana 204 that is a sweet 7lb 1oz with small bipod. Both with 6.5-20 leupolds. As i get wiser with age Im wanting to carry less to do the job so Im pretty sure Ill trade a Kimber 22-250 84 for the sweet Montana.I walk a ton to call my coyotes and every ounce counts after a week or two of daily walking.
