Help? I have a stainless barrel that someone glass beaded. How do I polish it back to a normal satin finnish.

Even if there was a reason to polish the barrel, it would be a very difficult job.Personally,I have all of my stainless barrels glass beaded,to prevent glare.

...it would be a very difficult job.

Although it would take a little time, it is NOT a difficult job. PM on its way.

Perhaps,I should have posted time consuming instead, unless you have a lathe to set it up and turn it while you polish. With the finish that my guns have,it would take considerable time and effort to polish the barrels smooth without a lathe. In any case,I for one wouldn't spend the time or effort.

I have a lathe, what would it take for materials, just not happy with the way it gets marked up so I thought Iwould make it like my other gun, the satin finnish doesent show every mark

I've watched barrels polished in the Rocky Mountain Rifle gun shop. It takes seconds to do and they don't use a lathe. The barrel is mounted in a jig that allows it to spin and then it is worked against a very fine emery cloth belt.
