Here's a really good on-line flytying course featured at FAOL.Any new tier is sure to benefit from it and progress through more advanced techniques by following the course structure from beginning,to intermediate,to advanced.

qu/ This series is produced using techniques which are the basic building blocks of tying. Each subsequent fly builds on the previous flies and methods /qu

Sorry,I guess my link won't take you directly to the instruction section, but clik on "Fly tying" in the left column and then clik "Beginning Tying" in the next menu.

This one covers a lot of ground, and explains how to fish them, you have to join to read it, but, I think the only e-mail I have had back from the site was an invitation which I had to turn down as it was during a hunting trip that was already written in stone.

Hey Dace,

Try the sport fishing on the fly website. Every episode of their show they tie and new fly and show you step by step how to tie it and the recipe for it. I am pretty sure they have a whole bunch of step by step videos on their site.

Once you have some flies tied, here are some really good pointers on what to do with them (also fishing in general)

@ Dace:
I picked up a great book from chapters a few months ago. It is called 'The fly tying bible: 100 deadly trout and salmon flies in step by step photos'. This book has been extremely helpful and I suggest you take a look at it. It has helped me a lot!
