I like the Lindner's. Books and shows are great, thinking about getting more. Articles written or appearances on shows by Jeff Gustafson. He's a relatable young guy that talks a lot about what he's doing and just not talking crap or just catching fish and not telling you how they are doing it.

Can't go wrong wiht In-Fisherman books and mag either. I have the complete set on walleye.

Because he's a friend of mine, I would have to say Wayne Norstrom.

X2 for Gussy. I can relate to him since he is a pretty young guy and has been guiding since he was like 14 or so. He explains what he is doing and why he is doing it. I am pretty sure you will see him on alot more shows or maybe even have his own show in the near future.

Yeah no kidding! He's been on a lot of shows. Lindner's Fishing Edge, Next bite, Bob Izumi and Fish TV to name a few. Also a regular in in-fisherman magazine.

Ya I am getting a little tired of Noden, Schawanky and Fenson. Ive been reading there articles for years and they start to repeat themselves after awhile. I just cant get over some of the places they get to go fish at for free !!! Good for them. Must be nice to have time !!1:argue2:

I'd second Roderick Haig-Brown, especially if your a fly guy. Not real instructional but great to while away a few winter hours.
Vic Bergman has a few good articles, again more directed to the flyfishers.

Currently reading Jim McLennan's "Watermarks"....a collection of storys and articles from the past 30 years of flyfishing...nice understated style and like most of the masters it's about the journey not the results....sk

Bob for sure. He wrote about Alberta and turned me on to grasshoppers as a dry fly. Thanks Bob

i Haven't read too many yet. but working on it. I have read a things from Gustafson and i like him. I do like in fisherman, both the mag and the show wasnt bad either. When i was down in houston, we had an outdoorsmen channel and i PVRd all the fishing shows and would watch them at night and in fisherman was definately worth the watch because they actually talked about why/how they used certain hooks/baits.

I had just read a book from Tim Allard, "ice Fishing: The Ultimate Guide". Good book for beginers. It talks about all the different ice fishing aspects from clothing, gear/tackle, to electronics. Explains what everything is used for and how to use it. Then it gets into details about each of the commonly fished species: their migrating habits through the year, their feeding habits and where to find them.

Pretty good read.

Not that our posts are as "polished" as magazine writers, but I enjoy reading about fishing from all of the people on this AOF. Can be very informative, and quite entertaining sometimes.
