I have no problem catching some lakers out of spray lakes, but have yet to catch a whitefish.
Was wondering if anyone has any tips for catching them up at Spray lakes. I have yet to put a whitefish on the ice anywhere, but htought since I go to Spray often, maybe I could get one there.
TIA

At Spray Lakes I've had some (read: limited) success catching whitefish in about 12 FOW, lightly vibrating a small wire worm just off the bottom. I find that with whites it helps to see down the hole, as they are light and finicky biters.

I'm far from being a pro with whitefish, but this is what works for me.

Put a small weight on the bottom, put a fly 12 to 16 inches above the weight, same distance put a size 12 bare hook, same distance up put another fly. Tip the hooks with maggots,2 on the bare hook, 1 per fly. Put your bobber on the side of the hole and wait for them to pull it down. Royal coachman or any red fly work great.

Marmish rod with small black ant marmish jig tipped with 2-3 magots - a winning ticket :) works 100%
