Well, yesterday mooseknuckle and I headed out to try our luck on Wab. We got to the lake right around 8 and it was absolutely beautiful out there. Bloody cold but bright and sunny, and not a breath of wind until a bit of a breeze picked up in the afternoon.
I had found a spot that had been fishing pretty consistently for me, so I told him we should be in for a good day. Of course whenever I take somebody out to a 'good' spot it always lets me down! :lol: It turned out to be a fairly slow day with only a couple pike and a handful of perch, so mooseknuckle packed it in a little early. I decided to stick around for another hour or so and hope for a burbot at the end of the day, but instead I managed 3 more pike after he left! :lol:
We also saw a group of 3 coyotes out wandering on the ice, and heard them howling out there in the middle of the afternoon. Kinda neat :)

edit: I almost forgot, there were no issues with crowding on the lake with the free fishing weekend...I think the cold in the morning kept most people at home. I think we only saw 2 other vehicles out by town the entire day!
