I have an action from a 700 ADL in 7 Rem Mag.

If I am determining what else can be built on this action would I look at the measurement at the belt? I was thinking that by looking thru my reloading manuals and looking at that measurement it would tell me what else I could build on it.

I have never had anything to do with a custom so I am guessing here.

Suggestions are of course welcome. I have a 7 Rem, .243 amd 7/08 so if I do something it would have to fill a different niche.

Thanks folks.

Your best bet is to build off any standard belted mag case.... 257WM, 264, 7rm, 7stw, 300WM, 338wm, 375hh, 458 etc. Any case that uses a 0.532" bolt face.

Considering your destination this summer, .375H&H all the way. Just check that your action has the clearance and you should be good to go. It's a superb caliber.

Ya I know but I need time and money to get it done in time and that probably won't happen.

I have already started to get the paperwork in order for the gun I am taking also. I wanted to get this done early so I don't get caught with my pants down too.

Still a consideration though.

Another great choice and one that I am still giving serious thought but I wanted to know what all of my options may be. Maybe something that not a lot of folks have.

I like to be different. Lots of folks have a .338 WM. Although there is a good reason for it I know.

Thanks TJ

How about a 338 EDGE. Ballistically very close to a 338 LM but uses a standard magnum bolt face.
