For a .243 how often do you have to let the barrel cool? if you have to at all.

I my opinion, any center fire rifle should be left to cool when its needed, no matter what the catridge. 3 to 5 shots then let cool for a few minutes. Letting the barrell heat up regularly will decrease barrel life and comprimise accuracy. Obviously some will heat up faster than others so every situation can be approached differently. I used to let my .243 cool off aevery 5 shots or so. I'm sure Cat and the boys will chime in and explain it better than i can.
