I don't think there are a lot of options out there for us Western Canadians. It's Navonics or nothing.

Is there any way to get google maps on a gps? I have the maps on my iphone and it works as a gps, but only when you are within cell service areas. No service back in the bush.

All GPS units come with a basemap. So not sure how google would be advantageous. The lake maps we're talking about here show structure and depth contours, which can be VERY helpful when on the water.
