Just a heads up. I bought a new 17HMR noted above (blued heavy barrel and laminated thumbhole stock, and the bolt doesn't come out without jamming/rubbing on the top of the stock. Loading/ejecting cartridges is fine, but it doesn't come out easy for cleaning. Went to WSS where I bought it and we tried three different guns (same make and model)...ALL with the same issue. We checked the Savage 93R17 with the laminated thumbhole stock and heavy stainless barrel and there was no problem with those, so I am paying the difference and getting the stainless without the bolt binding issue. Just thought I would post this for anyone else that is considering this rifle.
