What's everyones spring bear recipe?

I am contemplating 120 gr TSX's moving at about 3000 fps, but the success has been with the 140 gr TSX at 2700 and a bit fps.

Interested to know what everyone is using....

I am going to try my 358 Winchester with 225 grain Barnes X bullets at 2500 fps, this load oughta slap the fuzz off them.

Bullpup 338LM with brake.

But only because I can't justify 20,000 bucks for a Krieghoff double.

If i get in a stand over stink, it will be bow all the way. I haven't been serious about bowhunting up until a couple years ago, and now I need to put an arrow into something bigger than a gopher.

Spot and stalk is option A though, and I will likely go with my 375 Ruger spitting 260 gr accubonds, or maybe my 458 win mag, if I dont sell it by then.

Originally started throwing 400gr lead from my open sighted 45-70 now my goto weapon is my Mathews Z7 and carbon express.

My recipe is as follows: Beaver carcasses (best bait hands down), oats, various scraps collected over the winter and deep fryer oil. Weapon of choice: Hoyt Turbo Hawk with an Easton carbon arrow tipped with a G5 broad head, backed up with a Mossberg defender loaded with 3" slugs and 00 shot. After hunting bears with a bow at close range over bait, there is just no going back!

I won't know for sure until I have one in the crosshairs....it's funny how the feeling last year has dulled with time, but thinking about it now, I'm not sure what I'll do... I probably will pass on taking one...

I had resigned to not taking any more ebars a few times,... but I think last year was the final time,...

but never say never right....

More along the lines of what guns do I want to justify. These are my rifles that are most suitable for big bush, where the bears roam. Open sights on the 458, and a 1.25-4x leupold on the 375
My wife will be shooting them with a 260 remington and 120 gr TSX, which will still be plenty big enough for a blackie.

I'll be shooting 400gr Harvest Time arrows behind a 175 gr broadhead out of my RER Longbow at them this year

I have had a bunch of pm's,,,and responded to most.

I won't be taking a bear this spring, but the few guys I said I would go on a hunt with, I am still on for it and willing to stalk and spot with anyone looking for a good day out.

Seems a few people were quite interested in the goings on of me hunting or not hunting a bear, mainly cause I had sworn it off last spring.
Enough said that my motivation last year was personal and still is, but I would love to see someone take the big color phase bruin that was here this fall, and i know he was not shot, or at least legally tagged.
