I have 2 338 win mags I was thinking about building a 264 out of one of them just looking for some info. Any would be good thanks

Lottsa fun , easy to make brass from belted cases, just not my cup of tea, after messing with several over the years, but for a long range hunting cartridge they do very well.

I love this cartridge. It is one of the flattest shooting rounds avaiable. The sectional density of a .264 bullet makes it suitable for large game like elk and moose.

One of my first rifles was a Win. M70 in .264 win. mag.

With it I have shot White-tail and mule deer, Pronghorn, moose, elk, black bear, Bighorn sheep. Some coyotes and the heads off some grouse and a ptarmigan.

I have a few others that I have used but I often just reach for the one I know the best.

What are the avibality of casings I hand load what kind of muzzle vol. Can I expect with a 140 gr thanks guys
