Cree /English/German/Scottish

Born in Calgary, Alberta.... my adoptive parents lived In Hinton, Alberta. They drove to get me and brought me back to Hinton, Alberta. Lived there for maybe 6 months, then it was off to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta where I lived until I was 19. Moved to Edmonton, then Fort sask, then Edmonton, then Fort Sask, then Edmonton, then Winnipeg, MB, then Edmonton......

Currently thinking of moving to Red Deer, Alberta in the next two years or somewhere in the area like Lacombe or Innisfail.

by far.... Winnipeg was the best ever..... The fishing in Manitoba and NW Ontario is so awesome !!!! I could give up hunting forever if I ever moved back there, I would never have time to hunt.

Born on the the Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland.
To be exact?
Adam's Cove, on the North Shore of Coception Bay with Cape St Francis in off the front step..

If you look at the map below, you'll see the Avalon Peninsula at the bottom right and Coceptipn bay on the top of that peninsula (Notheast) of the peninsula...
If you float out Conception Bay, you pass the Moste easterly point in North America. Next stop,..the islands or Jolly ol England

As for a sense of the history, this particular map of where I am from is from 1768...there are older of course.

Pirates, Vikings, Merchants, Fisherman, German U boats, USA destroyers and the French have all been on the shores...

At one time or another I have lived in Oshawa Ontario, Toronto Ontario, Calgary Alberta, Edmonton Alberta, Jasper Alberta, Grande prairie Alberta, Vibank Saskatchewan, Regina Saskatchewan, Wosley Saskatchewan, and St John's Newfoundland...

Great place to grow up with all of the outdoor activities at hand.

Moved to Calgary as a 20 something, back to DV for 6 months to get a girl, Back to cowtown for an education (SAIT) then to Winnipeg for 5 years.

Back in Calgary since 2003.

Next move won't be too far unless the lotto hits and it has awesome hunting and fishing. Hard to beat Alberta for the outdoors but I agree with ABB about the oportunity in MB.

Andy

Hi neighbor!!!

I was born in Edmonton (no hospital in Spruce Grove), grew up on the farm that my grandfather pioneered in Spruce Grove--that farm is now gone and the comp high school sits just 100 yards south of where our house was.
Graduated Spruce Grove comp (the old school, not the present one) worked in Edmonton and Spruce Grove and lived at home till I found my life partner.
We live on the 1/2 section his dad pioneered about halfway between Carvel and Duffield. (our farm south fenceline is along hwy 16)

In SG, I worked at a restaurant called Chick'n'steak and Chocolate Cake, the Grove Motor Inn coffee shop, The Broiler Restaurant till the babies came and now I work at home bookkeeping and putting the babies through college.

Not many others from the Fraser Valley...

I was born in Mission, BC.
I lived in Port Coquitlam, BC as a baby.
I lived in Maple Ridge, BC growing up.
That was the first 14 years of life.
Then my dad got a transfer to Prince George, BC for work.
Lived in that hole in the planet for the next 9 years.

I was working at Telus at the time and they went on strike in 2005. I was the only person in BC to cross the picket line and helped train all the managers to do the work. They sent me to live in New Westminster for 6 months or so and then told me it would be too dangerous for me to go back to Prince George and gave me the choice of office in Alberta to move to. I chose Edmonton, they paid for my move and have been here for the last 5 and a half years.

I'm hoping to be moving out to Rural Leduc County in the next couple months.

Believe it or not, I miss the rain . . . especially those amazing thunder storms: when the thunder would echo and roll off of the mountains. I would sit out in my backyard for the duration of those storms.

I don't miss the mountains a whole lot. I find I'm happy enough with what I have access to here. I miss the water. I especially miss the quick jaunt up to Cultus after dinner.

It's funny how people see things differently.

I never really thought the thunderstorms were much to see on the coast.
I have sat in the driveway here with a beverage and watched the light show here more than once.

When we got snow there it was often much more than I've ever seen here. The cold would come down from the Fraser canyon and meet the wet air from the ocean right in my front yard.:)

I enjoyed the rain. I enjoyed the mountains and real skiing, not the bunny hills here that people call skiing. If I could afford it and if the politics shifted to the right a lot, I'd consider moving back. As it is, I'm happy here. Politics are far more conservative to BC, and I much prefer it.

Across the pond. Balkans to be exact (Bosnia - former Yugoslavia) for first 16-17 years of my life. Have been calling Edmonton home for last 18 years. Canada is truly the only home in my heart now.

It does not hurt that there is so many Ukrainian-Canadians here as it made our transition so much easier (both parents are Ukrainian descent).

I spent the first 18 years of my life in Central New Brunswick. In 1995 I went to Chilliwack, BC and run through the mountains with a chainsaw for a year. Back to NB to go to Ranger School and out to Alberta 8 years ago. (Fort McMurray) I now rest my bones in Wandering River. I grew up in a small town and want my 3 boys to as well.(19 months, 19 months and 9 days) I'm sleepy. :)
