:sign0161:Does a 257 roberts fit into a short acton rifle? Seems to me that the mag length would be a problem because this cartridge is alot longer than the 308 family. If it does need a long action why would anybody use it? The 25-06 will do everything the roberts can do and more. With more choices in factoy ammo and readily available components like brass the only pro for the 257 would be the weight savings of the short action, if it will fit. If it matters im thinking Savage action Shelin barrel for a light weight hunter.
