My brother and I are headed out tomorrow from Strathmore to do some ice fishing. It is our first time:sHa_shakeshout:. We have the bare essential gear. Question is where is a good place to go within an hour? Travers? McGregor? Bassano Dam? Lake Newell? Eagle Lake? Chestermere?

Any tips would be awesome and if you don't want to let everyone know please PM me

Thanks

Joe

What's your goal?

1. Big fish?
2. Lots of fish?
3. Steady fishing, some potential for a large one?
4. Pike?
5. Walleye?
6. Both pike and walleye?
7. White?

Or all of above?

I think steady fishing. Don't really care what kind but would like to have some ok success as this is my first time.

Steady and First Time is a tough combination
My choice for a lake would be CVR....we call it the easy button. Always my choice to take new icefisherman and its never failed yet.

First time? CVR ok choice, if you know EXACTLY where you are going.

If not, try Chestermere. I can PM you exactly where to go, exactly what to use and how to do it.
