just bought the xcr2 in the 7mm ..just wondering if anyone has shot one or anything?and what would bee a good scope to mount on it

Which 7mm did you get? The XCR II is available in 7mmremmag, and 7mmRUM. With a budget of $500, I would go with a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40. With a $1000 budget, I would go with a Swarovski Z3 3-9x36.

just a question here what does the swarovski do that the ziess doesnt? they both apear to be great optics?

The Swarovski is a little smaller and lighter, and my eyes find the optics just a touch better than the Conquest.

Call Clay at Prophet River. He has some great deals on Leupold vx 2 and vx 3 and carries the zeiss stuff as well.
