Got a pair of 1986 Suzuki Intruders for my summer fun. Bought the maroon one from the original owner 3 years ago. Black one was maroon when I bought it last year, but had to change it to black. Nice riding bikes.

This is my 1982 XS 1100 Yamaha.
She's a classic and that is what I like the most about her.

She wasn't in good shape when I got her, she'd been high sided and had a bad case of road rash, and she wasn't running very well. I have fixed her up some and got her running decent, but there's a lot to do yet.

Thanx for the praise on my bike guys! Kegriver, I used to have a 78 Yamaha XS1100, with the big frame mounted fairing & bags. That bike just kept goin, I think it was 30 years old by the time I parted with it. BTW for any of the forum members that are interested, I work as an Instructor at Fairview College campus of GPRC, in the Harley-Davidson program. If you are passing by this way, shoot me a PM and I can arrange a tour of the facility.

1977 yamaha XS 650 Special.

No hot rod by far but it's a great gas saver and a fun ride. The ol twin engine's really bounce around on the main stand in idle it will make it's way across the parking lot. LOL

Bike still only has 21k on her.

Take him up on the offer. I have been in the Harley shop at the Fairview campus and it is well worth your time. Buddy of mine used to work in the IT dept at the college and got a pretty good tour of the place. And I shouldn't say this but bring your rod. The college has a stocked pond and I caught a 5lber out of there in September.

Yes, bring your rod definately if you come to Fairview. The pond is stocked with rainbows, I caught a large triploid last summer, along with plenty of mid sized rainbows. The best part is that most days in the summer you have the place to yourself. Whenever I got tired of finicky rainbow fishing I would just go 2.5 km north to Cummings lake & get some instant gratification from the small Perch there. 5 min, 5 casts, 4 landed fish. Kinda bummed they did not aerate this year.

If someone comes up for a tour, I usually take them over to the storage building after the Trev Deeley Building. I have keys & a code, so not a problem. Most people just stand in awe when they walk in that place, about 125 Harleys, about 300 bikes of other brands, plus quads, sleds, some outboards, all just for training purposes. Before anyone asks, the bikes are destroyed when they are no longer used for training. They are not sold afterwards. I will post in the main part of the forum if I know of any upcoming motorcycle events at the college, we usually host a show & shine each year. Not sure if it's OK to mention here, but we also have a Bike raffle, this year is a 2010 Softail Crossbones, tickets are $100 each, and only 499 printed. check the college website if you want to get one, http://www.gprc.ab.ca/fairview/HarleyDavidsonMotorcycleRaffle.htm
Just PM me in advance if you are coming through Fairview & want to check out the college!

Nice rides guys. :)

I still miss that little '85 Interceptor I could be found on years ago. :(

Jacob, my neighbour is restoring a late '20's Chevy. His father was the original owner and it was the first ever vehicle for the family. It was still being used on the farm up until the '90's. What makes it so unique and rare is that the box and cab were made from Oak. I'll see if I can get some pics to post for ya.

Almost forgot, bring your golf clubs too if you come up here. There is a 3 hole par 3 course that surrounds the fish pond, right on the campus, plus a putting green. The Fairview Golf & Country club is decent from what I hear, but havent played it myself. I have played the Hines Creek course, wich is a bit more natural, kind of hard to describe, it is more of the "working man's" course from what I hear.

As an instructor, I have about 8 weeks a year off in summer, so I spent a fair bit of time smashing balls around or fishing at the pond. Not to mention walking the dog around campus. The town will host the 55plus games this July, so might be a good time to come for a visit. Usually Fairview is a very quiet place in summer. Shoot a cannon down main street middle of the day and no one would know kind of quiet. That is part of the charm here I think. My job takes me to Ontario for 6 weeks every fall too. This year I tried Bass fishing while there, and I'm hooked (pardon the pun).

very nice rides guys keep em coming... i was thinking for a ride we could all meet in red deer or smth... seems like a middle point for edmonton and calgary... and we could ride out to the mountains on highway 11 through nordegg...maybe stop some where in the mountains and have a bbq... the guys going to edmonton could head north on 93 through jasper and back... the guys going south could go through banff... anyone in the middle could go either way.... we could even camp out somewhere around there ... i figured the round trip back to edmonton would be 10 hours... it can be done in a day but it doesnt leave much time for anything else.... any other ideas are more than welcome

You definately had to stop and stretch more often that the sit up guys, or lay on the tank and stretch out back, but I didnt buy the busa's strictly for comfort, it was because they are the biggest sport bike made, incredible in the twisty's, and because they are 'Busa's'.

I remember a long run once, had to stop at a red light, and my legs were not there anymore. I could not get my foot off the peg, balanced for a good 3 seconds and managed to flop my leg down before the bike went over. I took more breaks after that.

Here's my ride - a 1977 BMW R100 done up as an RS model. She's got about 135K km on her and still runs pretty good. Needs some electrical work and new fairing mounts - she fell over in my driveway a few years ago and hasn't been ridden since. The fairing moved a few inches and the bars won't turn anymore. Someday I might get around to fixing her, but until then she sits unloved under a tarp in my back yard.

Behind her is a 1979 Honda CX-500 that I sold to my uncle. It was a great little bike, liquid cooled V-twin, shaft drive. I miss the sound of that bike... maybe I should buy it back from him?!?!?!

Not as far as sales are concerned. H-D lags far behind the major Japanese manufacturers in sales. And for 2010 H-D sales dropped by around 13% for the first nine months, while BMW sales increased by 4%.
