Chickakoo lake

Heading out to Chickakoo lake tomorrow morning. I have nver caught a Rainbow or brookie in my life. Any tips/ what kind of bait?

I've been told.. Shrimp and maggots... Not to big of a hook.. And they are wary of the type of line you use... But I'm in the same boat bud.. Never caught one under ice as well.. No problem in an actual boat.. But heh.. On ice.. Grrr.

use worms and good luck. That lake gets hit hard. U gotta go 1st ice. You get a 2 week period there or it's not even worth it.

I like chickacoo in the early season. But what works for me is small white jig heads tipped with maggots, even some of those smallest sized Cicadas work great

Word on the street is that Chickacoo winterkilled...anybody know if there's any truth to this?
