From the National Post, Nov. 29, Elderly gun owners target of inspection (http://www.nationalpost.com/todays_paper/story.html?id=130696)

"The provincial gun regulator will begin inspecting the homes of older gun owners in Toronto to ensure they are storing their firearms safely, an initiative one sporting association said amounts to "harassing" seniors.

"Ontario's Chief Firearms Office says it is responding to concerns raised by Toronto police, which have in the past been called to the homes of gun owners who had either died or been hospitalized and did not have their registered firearms securely stored. In some cases, the guns were found lying around. Authorities worry they could get into the wrong hands."

...

How long before this happens in Alberta?

If the Ontario Seniors issue a human rights abuse claim, stating it is profiling and since Airport security cant profile why should the Ontario CFO be able too.
This is more Left Wing bull cookies.
They cant get their way with the Feds so the Province acts like a bunch of Jack Booted Thugs.
Remember the Ontario Govt wanted to ban handguns, but the Feds told em to stuff it, they have a strong anti gun agenda and well they want it their way or no way.
thank you Bantario and Moronto.

Those sick twisted barstards in Turdonto. That is the most disgusting thing I've heard of. Will Dalton offer to safely dispose of said firearms also? Will he be charging these elderly people with gun crimes??

What's next? Jack booted gun confiscaters walking down the streets...In Canada...going door to door...taking away guns...I'm not making this up.

Harper et al should deny access to the gun registry to all provincial governments and police organizations. This info should be held private and should only be released upon issuance of a valid warrant.

Yes, if I had a nickel for everytime I saw or read a news report about a crack dealing gang banger totting a sporterized .303 british or heard a tale told of yet another drive by shooting with the ever popular gangland hit weapon of choice the Winchester model 70 in .30-06... well needless to say, I would of course have a sh$&load of nickels.

Thank goodness law enforcement officials in Toronto have finally figured out where the flow of dangerous and illegal weapons used for violent and destructive crime in this Country have been coming from... and as usual its from where you might least expect it - Grandpa's house. What a joke.

Don't give the gangs any ideas. It's bad enough they get their hands on stolen handguns. God help us if they ever realize how much more effective a .303 British would be for dispatching rivals!
