I have a brother in Edmonton that has interviewed for a job as a conductor for CN, just wondering if there is anything he can at this point to better his chances, he could really use the job. Thanks.

Wj works for CP as well as myself, however if he brushes up on behavioral interviews and has good medical record he should be fine. Lethbridge will hiring here again soon.

Honestly tell him to wear a long leave shirt that has no collar.

Just worked 24 days put in 26 trips and could not make my miles. If your brother is young and single it won't be so bad if he is married with kids look else where for work.

X2 it,s a single mans life.unless you can find a strong women who can handle the lifestyle.

I made my miles in 21 days, but I was getting home at 6:00am then doubling out.just disgusting.also I worked 11 switchers in a row,all 12 hours.no more quits in the hat.the anchor has now been thrown out:)

I am a conductor for CN out of Edmonton. If you can stay out of the politics and keep your nose clean it is a pretty good place to work.

Agreed, just look after your own train and forget about bosses and what the other crews are doing. It's good money and there is litttle hard labour. Get your miles in and enjoy a week off every month. If not, have every other day off. That is nice too.

I see ads all over Alberta and northern BC for conductors. There are even some job fairs listed.
