Im thinking a 8 or 9 ft steel head rod then ill put a Ambassader 7000 on and spooled with 80 lb Berkley big game braided , with 30 lb maxima flourcarbon for a leader . This will be my new sturgeon set up .

Glow Rod , isnt that one of them thin things .

This would be a pretty heafty set up , Wish i could find better then 80 lb braided line , I just dont have the faith in Power pro anymore and this is the first time Ive seen Berkley Braided line . Berkley makes a good product . Ive given some serious thought to Pline used it in 25 lb on my walleye rod bait caster . Ill have to go shopping I guess . Im thinking around 350 -450 maximum for this set up .

Im sure if he says the word Sage... he is aware of the price margins...... And if he doesnt... then that is just not right, lol. My last Sage was a z-Axis for over $700. Worth the money? no... did I have any complaints? no

if that show is the same as it has been for years you'll be dealing with reps from the major tackle companies directly. lots of deals to be had and usually some perks if your drop enough dough. one year i bought 3 spinning rods from the daiwa boys and they threw in a mitt full of crank baits as a bonus.

Yes I'm aware of that this does not deter me ill be picking a rod I feel comfortable with but I was looking at sages The day this thread emerged what's with the snotty attitude

Very ironic you say that as the whole reason I posted was because of your snotty attitude regarding a "SAGE" flyrod. Marketing at its finest, that is why you pay for a name with 80% mark up. :sHa_shakeshout:

My old man and I are planning on halibut and salmon fishing the BC west coast this summer and may put some salmon and halibut fishing tackle on the list. I may also put 50lb flouro carbon leader material on the list as well, to make some expereimental "stealthy" pike leaders.

usually 40% on clearance items... up to 30% on rods and tackle... Things like electronics and motors and ice tents are usually 10%
