Many of you likely know this, but some I had mentioned it to found it very interesting. Before you leave, if you decide to buy a computer, laptop, camera, whatever, check and see if your VISA has theft/loss/damage coverage.
I bought an IPOD touch for my daughter, and Camera before we went, CIBC VISA doubled the warranty and gave unconditional coverage in the case of theft, dropping, forgetting, unintentional swimming etc. If I jumped in the ocean with the camera in one pocket and cell phone in the other, they would replace it immediately no questions asked. Also, because it doubles the warranty there was no point in buying extended warranty from Futureshop, which saved $150.00.
