Hey guys, been pondering what to get for new light weight rain gear for backpacking(have a couple picked out). So was wondering what guys are using and what you recomend.
And yes im sure there is another thread somewhere about this but I still posted it.

I have a Sitka Stormfront that seems very awesome. I have only worn it in cold temps though without any rain. The Stormfront Lite looks decent.

I've worn Browning rain gear, Sitka, Integral Designs, Cabelas, and various others...lots of good brands out there.

I am getting new suit as well. Researched quit a bit. I think I am going with ArcTerx. Sounds to be some of the best. A little pricey though but it seems if you want top of the line rain gear it is all expensive.

For years, I could only afford the cheap stuff. Over the last three years on sales and boxing days, my wife and I have been suited up with a variation of helly hanson (pants) and North Face systems. I've been in some wild hail and thunderstorms with the north face shells and have stayed bone dry. Not cheap, most expensive clothes we've ever bought, but they are super light, and do what they say they'll do.

Same thing I use for birth control-Saran Wrap and a rubber band.

it's called "the sportsman" it was 50 cents at a garage sale it's old and I'm pretty sure it's lined with asbestos, but in a nuclear fallout it would be the only article of clothing I own that would survive.

Just place the rubber band slightly below your chin! I here it works best.

up top I am using a Klim stowaway parka

Often I don't wear rain pants, I am usually in quick dry shorts and Gtex gaiters...I get too hot in pants. However I do have a pair of triple point ceramic pants by lowe alpine that are fantastic if I need some extra coverage.
