Saw my first large flock of snow geese flying over nose hill in Calgary this morning. It was kinda neat as it was very foggy and you heard them coming but could not see them. All at once they came out of the fog and then were gone back into the fog making you wonder if you rally saw them. But my neighbour said the ravens are back. I do not know where they go for the winter but they were gone for awhile and now they are back raising hell. Also a few reports that the robins are back.

Yup, spring is here in the Peace River area too.

Today I saw the first Geese of the year.

Spring started three days ago, (snow started to melt). It didn't take long for the summer birds to start showing up.

First two Tree Sparrows showed up at our bird feeder, late on that first day.
The next day I spotted a Sea Gull, and several Crows.

Then today the first Geese arrived. These two landed at our local water supply pond and appear to be settling in for the night.

Yup, spring is here !! YeeeeHawwww !!!

Up here in Edmonton spring hit like a sudden brick wall a few days ago. It was from powdery 3ft of powdery snow now to 2.5ft of sticky snow and little rivers and puddles everywhere. By the looks of it too, it looks like it could be here to stay(touch wood).:sHa_shakeshout:

BTW this a link to the edmonton long range weather forecast.

ya you are right. Today Sat morning I drove from Calgary to Cochrane around 7a.m and the roads were crazzy. They were better once you got out of the city and hit the highway as it had been plowed. I wrote the orginal thread a few days ago and probably posted it to the wrong place as it just showed up now.
