I just bought an argo 6 months ago. It came with a homemade truck box ramp system for loading, but with the tracks on its a bit too wide for the truck box. How are you guys hauling them around if you dont have a trailor?

I see alot on the road on sled decks.

Sled deck.. tricky with plastic tracks but doable if loaded from a hill, rubber tracks would be better.

Yeah sled deck works good. I only use the rubber tracks and they'd climb a tree!

Yup, no trouble getting them up there but it is a good load.

You are better off with a small flat bed trailer.
Loading plastic tracks up steep ramps can get you killed off.

For the price of sled deck, you could get a trailer, and then have your whole box to use.... :bad_boys_20:

Having the box of your truck available is pretty good, plus even if you are not hauling your Argo, you still have the sled deck on your truck.
Plus, the weight of your Argo on your truck really affects how it handles.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Looking how Sheephunter's Super Duty is sitting, I would vote for a trailer.

If you took sheephunters wallet out of the argo it would not be sitting like that. LOL

they only weigh about 1000-1200 so he must have alot of something else in the back to make it sit like that. I only have the conquest, even with a sled deck weighing 1000 that still would leave plenty of capacity to pull a camper, which is why I dont want to trailor it.

You need airbags. Nice setup though.

It's a bad picture, the truck didn't really sit that low but it was a big load for sure. Some air bags would definitely have been a good idea.

F350 but with lift kit springs that definitely weren't as heavy as originals. There was a lot of additional weightn in the truck at the time plus the photo makes it look lower than it actually was. With the argo full of fuel, I'm guessing it's around 1350 pounds.

I trailer mine, for a couple reasons:
I like to keep a canopy on the truck for hauling gear/dogs/ect and keeping it all dry.
More often than not, I find myself taking 2 Argo's on trips now, so I have to use the 20ft trailer.
I don't have a Holliday Trailer anyway:)

Use a 30 foot enclosed trailer and two Argos.
Argos come out, carpet and cots go in, furnace comes on, and the fun begins!:)

I have run both for quite some time and after having experienced both I prefer the trailer. The pro of the deck is that it is always ready to go (should you leave it on, and you most likely will as it's a pain to load and unload by yourself). The big con is that when not utilized as a carrier it takes up most of the box space, I know you can store stuff under but with the ramps in there is barely enough room for a jerry can to stand up and getting stufff that has slid towards the front is a pain (I left a hockey stick in the back to fish things out).
The trailer is more multi use, easy to hook up and un hook by yourself, generally get a bigger size for the same amount of money and isn't a pain to lend out to buds (no need to make sure the box size is right and the hooks ups are the same).

My 2 cents......maybe you need to run both to make a good decision. one thing is that it isn't hard to sell either if you do buy one and don't like it.

That's my dream setup:)

Would a 1 Quad also fit in there with the Argo's? Maybe if it was turned sideways?

Thanks for posting the photos Rich.:)

Yes you could get the quad in as well RD.
We have the avenger as well as the smaller 6 wheeler. If you had two avengers it would be tight.

One avenger and a smaller 6 wheeler.
Trailer has a built in furnace with the large propane tank under the floor at the front right of trailer.
Also bring a couple 30 lb BBQ type propane tanks and a cheater hose to attach to main tank, allowing you to stay as long as you want in the bush, using the furnace. If you do run out of propane, you just run into town and fill the smaller tanks, go back, hook one up to the maintank, and get back out hunting.
Stayed north of Slave Lake last November moose hunting, for two weeks, no problemo!:) Just ran in for propane and other supplies a couple times.
Use the generator for outside lights, coffee-maker, toaster, etc.
