Been waiting on getting this for a few months now, and finally got it today!

A 2006 CR250R. It'll be the first two stroke bike that I've raced, so it'll be interesting to learn how to ride it! Been on 4 strokes since 2001 and started racing on them, so it'll be some getting used to, but can't wait.

Now I just need all this to go away......

I remember when I was 16 I wanted to get one of those 250 2 stroke bikes though my parents wouldn't allow me for safety reasons. Also, according to reaserch the 2 strokes are much funner and much lower maintnence and easier to start than the 4 strokes.

BTW awesome bike. It's cool to see a bike like that in great condition when it has been beaten around the track for about 5 years.

Also, that's a crazy awesome amount of air. If I try to jump my Polaris RZR 800 too high it tends to nose dive.:scared0015:

If I got as much air as in those pictures above on my ATV, someone mine as well be getting a head start to call the ambulance as the front end is sailing and pointing straight towards the ground..:sHa_sarcasticlol:

Yeah, I think anyone who has ever raced or jumped anything knows that sickening feeling of an endo through the air! I know I have!

The reason I went with a 2 stroke is pretty much what you stated in your post - much cheaper to buy and lower cost to maintain. You can rebuild a 250motor for a couple hundred bucks, but a 4 stroke is a different story. I blew up my 2008 RMZ 250F ( Suzuki ) TWICE in one summer - that sucked! Cost about $1400 to rebuild. Plus, I have heard from a few people that the fun factor in riding 2 strokes is much higher than a thumper. I don't know, we'll see! But I can't wait to get out and wring this thing out on a track! :)
