Friend of mine crashed near Mayo yesterday. He was alone in the plane he flew for Black Sheep Aviation

Brad was quite a kid. He flew me out of the bush last year and he was my "target" when my rangefinder wasnt working. He grabbed a washtub and ran down the shore of the Stewart River, in 100yd increments just so i could test the range, carrying that stupid washtub so i had something reflective to bounce off of

I always felt good when he would fly in because he could fly. He was a great pilot. I dont know what happened but i know the world lost a good kid with a lot of guts

I am gonna miss ya grasshopper.

I am so very, very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, Randy!!:(
Just when one's life takes a turn and he wonders if things are as bad for others, stuff like this happens, making a person realize just how fortunate we are to be here still.....

Sorry to hear, with my several fly in fishing trips I have come to know some great bush pilots and would be distraught if I was to loose one.

There was a lot more to Brad and his family that I didnt share obviously, but yesterday all I could think about was him running on the shore holding that washtub. It made me smile to think of it.

He could shoot. He had his 30-06 with a Leupold scope and I watched him shoot a balloon at 480yds, resting his rifle on a semi frozen pound of wrapped hamburger. No kidding. I offered my jacket as a rest but he preferred the hamburger

I will post a pic later with Brad and I in the plane

Yipes, what an awful story. I'm really sorry to hear it. It's always rough to lose someone; friend, family... it almost doesn't matter who.

How's his family holding up? I imagine they're in rough shape right now as well.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Randy. I lost my friend, Richard, in a crash at the Mayo airport several years ago. He also flew for Black Sheep, and I believe you knew him as well.

Holy crap Randy that's terrible news! So many good people have been lost to plane crashes in the past few years that it really shows how dangerous it can be. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brad's family.

May the good memories overwhelm the sorrow felt during this time. Bush pilots are indeed a special fraternaty.

This pic was taken at Einerson Lake in the northeast part of the Yukon. Brad flew in to take this argo trailer out for me. He is kneeling in the plane.

The reason I chose this picture is because the last time I saw him, he was kneeling in the plane just like that.......

The plane in the picture is the one he died in on April 1.....
