Firebag river

Has anyone ever fished this river? Had any luck? Is there even any fish in there?

Never fished it but did fisheries studies on it - pike throughout, and grayling and walleye more common in the lower half of the river (closer to confluence with the Athabasca).

Talked to a guy in Edmonton a few years back who said he worked for the government doing remote fisheries work and said the biggest pike he has ever seen came out of that river. He claimed it was around 40 ibs. I can't speak to the credibility of this character, but i do have a family member that used to hunt up that way and he said its good fishing.

I have tried fishing it a couple times, by the athabsca, only caught one pike but it was a decient size, if you want let me know when you are going and i will try to come out also. \i stay not far from there
