Is there any truth to the story of Minnow shortages due to flooding where minnows are caught ....???

i would imagine that may affect it but in my thinking i would guess that the flooding might have altered or relocated the conditions or spots that the minnows spawn in and they are spawning in a different area. maybe the fine gravel for their redds get relocated and they move to find these areas.i have also found that the last few years collecting minnows have been much less than previous years.who knows how true this is.

You guys ever read the packing date on some of those tubs? I think we were into the 2004-2005 vintage last year. :thinking-006:

I'll bet it's just a ploy to charge you ten bucks a tub:mad0030:

There are a fair number of minnows coming out of northern Sk as well. The flood will recede and they will get their minnows. I have actually watched the commercial guys collecting at Lockport. Cool operation.

Don't they usually come from lakes? (eg. Candle Lake Minnows)

the trusted news i got today is normal trapping areas are way way flooded....boat houses are under water.....buildings are being moved to higher ground. I normally would have a confirmation that my cases are coming....this year so far i have 1/2 a case of jumbo spot tails
