This is for non oil patch employees.and southern alberta residents .
I only started bird hunting here 2 years ago went back to the homeland
to hunt . Do you think if Encana is pulling out , they will take all those ugly fence post signs with them . Their is no doubt if you are old enough to
remeber pre-oil days in western canada, then you remember a time
when there wasnt garbage laying all over the place and all that signage .
If gophers were 2 feet tall they would have encana signs on them .
We pheasanted in a 400 sq. mi. and could hardly find a quarter
that doent have a well head on it ... I dont want to walk anywhere ,
but I think ( as per last night CBC on the patch ) we are headed for some
ecological disasters in this province . Our neighbours to the south are
doing it to us again ...

Being from Morinville I don't qualify as being from the S (as in S AB) lol....but what about being responsible for our own actions/inactions......pointing fingers to the S is not right.

Just curious as to why we're heading toward ecological disasters? I take it there was a program on CBC last night? The Nature of Things perhaps?

I can't speak for Encana, but I know that every company I have worked with takes great pride in maintaining our operations and being as environmentally sensitive as we can be.

I can't help your issue with the signs, it's gov't regulation that every lease be signed.

As an aside, are you old enough to also remember the pre-oil days in western Canada where farms and towns were dying every day, roads and infrastructure were crumbling, and there were no jobs for our young people?
